The Lord Will Provide

The Lord Will Provide

Leaning on God and enjoying the peace He gives.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The verse of the day is Jeremiah 29:11. And we are going to meditate in all the promises that God has for us today in this verse. These are the thoughts that God has for us. Not our best friends’ advice, not our families, not ourselves, but God’s. Thoughts of peace.

The peace that God offers is different than the peace of the world. It is not based of assurances from your friend or on having all your needs met. God gives us peace, even in the hard times. With Him you can trust that everything is going to work for good because He is in control. We can see this in Mark 4:35-41. Here we see Jesus and his disciples crossing the Sea of Galilee when a fierce storm came and nearly sank the boat. The disciples knew Jesus. They had seen how powerful he was. He made the blind see, the lame walk and even fed 5000 people, not including the kids! Even having seen all this the disciples believed in that moment that they were going to drown.  They were scared and they told the master “’Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’ the Bible says that

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’ They were terrified and asked each other, ‘Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Sometimes this happens in our lives. We forget that God is with us in the hard times as well as the good times and we don’t have any peace. We don’t realize that He is our prince of peace; That he is powerful enough to bring us out of the darkest places that we are in. The peace of God, that he offers to us, surpasses all understanding. It is based on our relationship with God and our personal knowledge of who He is and that he is not here to do us evil, but to give us hope and a future.

Testimony

Early on in our marriage my husband would have to leave very early in the mornings to head to work. One morning around 8am my husband returned from work. He had been laid off. A lot of things went through my mind. How will we buy diapers? How will we pay our bills? Before I could continue thinking along these lines my husband did something I will never forget. He went to the refrigerator and opened it. Then turned to ask, “Jenny what do we have in this fridge.” He continued, “The same way God has provided now, he will provide in the days to come.” We held hands and prayed together that morning and chose to trust in God. Two weeks later he found a job and we never lacked for anything. While the flesh nature in me wanted to worry, I chose to trust in God’s provision. That’s the kind of peace that God gives us.

Matthew 6:26

“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”

Jenny Guevara

My name is Jenny Guevara. I’m married to my husband Isaias Guevara. We are the parents of 4 beautiful daughters. Each one of them is especially formed, with their own personalities, but they are all girls after God’s own heart. Together we have learned a lot about patience and in trusting the Lord in the most difficult times. It is these times that my husband reminds me that “God has everything in control.” My passion is to share that we have a God that created us with a purpose and that there is nothing too difficult for him. Everything that we pass through God can and will use for good. I love him very much, but I don’t just want to say it. I want my life to show it.

¿Todavía no tienes fe?

Y no tenemos paz.

¿Cómo vamos a comprar pañales?
